Rheumatoid Arthritis

Part 1 of 3: Overview

Symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease. When someone has RA, their immune system mistakenly attacks the joints as well as other organs and tissues.

According to Mayo Clinic, the most common symptoms of RA are directly related to joint damage. Additional symptoms are due to the widespread effects of an overactive immune system.

Want more info like this? Sign up for our RA newsletter and get resources delivered right to your inbox »

Part 2 of 3: Common Symptoms

Common Symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis is named after its effects on the joints. However, the autoimmune symptoms it causes can affect systems throughout the body.
Joint Pain and Swelling

The primary symptom of RA is joint damage. Symptoms usually begin in the smaller joints. RA typically starts in the fingers and wrists. This causes pain and swelling in the hands. Other joints commonly affected by RA include:
ankles
knees
hips
elbows
shoulders
neck
jaw

Affected joints may feel warm and spongy to the touch. According to Mayo Clinic, joint damage caused by RA is almost always symmetrical. This means that if your left hand is affected, your right hand will be as well.

Symmetrical symptoms are one of the things that distinguish RA from osteoarthritis (OA). Since OA is caused by physical wear and tear on joints, it’s less likely to be symmetrical. OA is the type of arthritis most people associate with aging.
Fever and Fatigue

Although joint pain is the most characteristic symptom of RA, it’s not always the first symptom. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC), many people with RA first experience a low-grade fever (under 100 F) and extreme fatigue for four to six hours after waking up. However, these early signs and symptoms may not be automatically associated with RA. Fever and fatigue can be caused by far too many other health conditions, even the common cold. There is usually no reason for a doctor to suspect RA until joint symptoms appear.
Stiffness

Prolonged stiffness upon waking is another symptom that can help distinguish RA from other forms of arthritis.

RA is also associated with stiffness after a long period of inactivity, such as sitting or lying down. This stiffness usually lasts an hour or more. In general, stiffness from other types of arthritis lasts for shorter periods of time.
Rheumatoid Nodules

According to Mayo Clinic, rheumatoid nodules are hard, flesh-colored lumps that may appear under the skin of the arms. They can range from pea-size to walnut-size. They may be either movable or firmly connected to tendons under the skin. Rheumatoid nodules are a symptom of advanced RA.

Part 3 of 3: Other Symptoms

Other Symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis

RA can affect a number of organs throughout the body. However, this type of damage is not common. The symptoms below are associated with more severe or advanced disease.
Dry Mouth and Eyes

Rheumatoid arthritis is often associated with Sjögren's syndrome. This is a condition where the immune system attacks the salivary glands and tear ducts. This can cause:

dry or gritty sensations in the eyes, mouth, and throat
cracked or peeling lips
difficulty talking or swallowing

Some people with RA also experience other discomfort in their eyes including:

burning
itching
discharge
Pleurisy

Pleurisy is a severe tightness or sharp pain in the chest when breathing. It’s caused by inflammation of the membrane surrounding the lungs.
Deformities

Advanced RA can cause severe joint damage. The hands and fingers may bend at unnatural angles. This can give them a gnarled and twisted appearance. Such joint deformities can also interfere with movement. Other joints that may become damaged in this way include the:

wrists
elbows
ankles
knees

Change Your Diet, Ease Your Pain

Arthritis, a form of rheumatic disease, is characterized by inflammation and loss of function in some parts of the body. Osteoarthritis damages cartilage, joints, and bones. It’s the most common type of arthritis, affecting more than 27 million Americans according to the CDC.

Rheumatoid arthritis is another form of arthritis that attacks the synovial lining of joints, causing pain, stiffness, swelling, and loss of function. A growing body of research suggests that dietary changes may help alleviate the chronic pain associated with this condition.

Click through the slideshow to see which eight foods to add to your daily diet.

Omega-3 Fats

A substantial amount of research suggests that omega-3 fatty acids may prevent inflammation in the body and reduce symptoms associated with arthritis. Researchers from the Center for Genetics, Nutrition and Health have discovered that the COX-2 enzymes that cause joint inflammation are more active when you eat a high ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids.

Omega-6 fats are prevalent in the American diet, found in meat, corn, snack foods, and sunflower oil. Try reducing your intake of these fats while increasing your consumption of healthy omega-3 fats, which are found in salmon, sardines, mackerel, trout, flaxseeds and walnuts.

Broccoli

Apparently, Mom knew what she was talking about when she told you to eat your broccoli. According to a Mayo Clinic 11-year study, broccoli, cauliflower, and other cruciferous vegetables were shown to protect against the development of arthritis.

Although this study examined the chance of arthritis development rather than pain management, it wouldn’t hurt to add cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, kale, and bok choy to your regular diet.

Vitamin D

A large study of 29,000 women without a history of arthritis found that those who consumed more dietary vitamin D had a lower risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis. The findings from aFramingham Heart Study showed a decreased risk of osteoarthritis progression in the knees of participants who consumed greater amounts of vitamin D.

Besides oily fish, few foods naturally contain vitamin D. Certain foods, such as dairy products and bread, may be fortified with vitamin D. Dairy, however, may exacerbate arthritis inflammation and pain. Consider a 20-minute stroll to take in some vitamin D-stimulating sunlight—the best source.

Ginger

Ginger has been used for thousands of years to treat colds, nausea, migraines, and hypertension. Although clinical studies report mixed resultsregarding ginger’s role in arthritis, the Journal of Medicinal Food gives evidence to support the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant role of ginger.

To add more ginger to your diet, try grating fresh ginger over sautéed vegetables, adding sliced ginger to tea, and sprinkling ground ginger in baked good batters.

NOTE: Ginger acts as a blood thinner, which could interact with blood thinning medication. Be sure to check with your physician before adding these foods to your diet.

Vitamin C

Start putting vitamin C-rich bell peppers, oranges, mangos, strawberries, pineapple, and kidney beans on your grocery list. According to one study, greater intake of vitamin C was associated with a 30 percent reduced risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis.

Choose dietary sources of vitamin C rather than supplements, as high doses have been known to exacerbate symptoms of arthritis. According to the USDA, the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for vitamin C is 90 mg/day for men and 75 mg/day for women.

Beta-Cryptoxanthin

Beta-cryptoxanthin is a powerful antioxidant of the carotenoid family. Like its sister, beta-carotene, a nutrient found in carrots, beta-cryptoxanthin is converted to vitamin A in the body and may help prevent arthritis.

Researchers from the United Kingdom found that those who consumed more foods containing beta-cryptoxanthin were better protected against arthritis. Foods with the highest amount of beta-cryptoxanthin include sweet peppers, squash, pumpkin, papayas, tangerines, collard greens, and apricots.

Anthocyanins

Anthocyanidins are potent antioxidants responsible for the reddish pigment in foods like cherries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, grapes, and eggplant. A Harvard School of Public Health study that examined C-reactive protein (CRP) levels as a marker of inflammation in cardiovascular health found that higher strawberry intake was associated with lower CRP levels.

Although the study focused on cardiovascular health, there are implications for arthritis patients, as the anthocyanidins found in strawberries and other foods may help reduce inflammation.

Your Overall Anti-Arthritis Diet

Overall, you should aim for a diet that’s high in fruits, vegetables, fish, nuts, legumes, and olive oil. Limit or avoid red meat, dairy, saturated fats, and sugar to help prevent arthritis and manage arthritis-related inflammation and pain.

6. Stevia Timeline Native to Paraguay & Brazil; consumed since 1600. In 1931 two scientist isolated the glycosides that give stevia its sweet taste: Stevioside and Rebaudioside. This remarkable discovery is what led us to name our venture Stevia 1931. Japan was the first (1970) developed and westernised economy to embrace stevia as a sweetener. Today Stevia has over 50% market share within the commercial sweetener market in Japan. In 2008 the U.S. FDA approved stevia as a food additive and dietary supplement. France followed suit in 2009, Hong Kong in 2010 and Europe in 2011.
7. Testing Our Strain in Various Conditions and Locations – Aljezur, Algarve, Portugal
8. Satisfying our Sweet Tooth In the 17th century refined sugar was a luxury item and consumption was limited. In the 19th century consumption sky-rocketed. WHO advices 25 grams of sugar p.p. per day. Current use is estimated at ± 140 grams of sugar p.p. per day. Excess sugar intake is linked to obesity, type II diabetes, cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, tooth decay and other diseases. We are genetically programmed to crave sugar. The food industry knows this. Below an evolutionary time line:
9. Stakeholders & Developments The sugar lobby is switching from fighting stevia towards embracing it. Hybrid products etc. Government subsidies for sugar production are set to be abolished (EU 2017). Consumers demand healthier alternatives. Resiliant sugar lobby long resisted approval of stevia in Europe. No checks & balances in the market. Afters years of stonewalling, stevia is permitted as a food adative and dietary suplement as of Dec. 2011 (EU). The ‘market’ and players within the sweetener industry are now playing catch-up Farmers, the food industry/sweetener market, goverernment and trade all have interest in the sweetener market. Stevia is a potential sugar & artificial sweetener substitute. Many new product developements. * Full SWOT analysis available in business plan.
10. Trends Consumer along with the food processing industry are becoming increasingly health conscious: Obesity, diabetes etc. are threatening and affecting our quality of life. The food industry is looking for a natural alternative to artificial sweeteners and sugar. The soda industry is currently taking the lead. Consumer demand for healthy ageing. Economic Motivations: Medical cost associated with over consumption of sugar are becoming overwhelming and unaffordable. Around 50% of EU population is overweight (220 million). Government: Government policy making is increasingly focused on using legislation to reduce sugars in food. Consider for example the sugar tax in Norway, Denmark, Mexico & St Helena. Trends in Philanthropy: Shift from giving to providing the key to self-reliance. New concepts and tools such as Venture Philanthropy and Imapct Investment on the rise.
11. Sugar Consumption at a Crossroad Credit Suisse concluded in their report: ‘Sugar Consumption at a Crossroad’ that sugar reduction is imminent and an undeniable trend. The report states; “The most likely outcome over the next 5-10 years will be a significant reduction in sugar consumption and a marked increase in the role played by high- intensity natural sweeteners in foods and beverages.’ The report continues by stating that ‘30%–40% of healthcare expenditures in the USA go to help address issues that are closely tied to the excess consumption of sugar.’ 'Sugar is the new tobacco': Cuts to amounts hidden in food could halt obesity epidemic, claim doctors
12. Why Agriculture? Key weapon in fighting poverty in Africa. Growing population with sweet tooth in developing world. Healthy returns, reasonable risk. Increasing demand for stevia.
13. Ghana: The Perfect Place for Stevia Cultivtion Good climate for growing stevia. Africa set to host the densest meteorological network in the world. Options for sites of 4000ha plus in Upper East Ghana inlc. Bulenga, Busa, Katua, Loggu en Tanina. Active participation from government on several levels, such as the Ministry for Agriculture, the Plant Protection and Regulatory Services (PPRSD) and Ghana Food and Drugs Authority (GFDA). Politically stable and well functioning banking industry. In top 10 of African Human Development Index. GDP long term average at 8% per annum; agriculture 5%.
14. Surveyor Sourcing Land in Upper West Ghana
15. Stevia is Set to Conquer 25-40% Market Share Within the Sweetener Market in EU (Pop. 520MM) Governments are keen to reduce the large cost associated with sugar overconsumption such as obesity. Subsidies for sugar cultivation are being reduced/abolished throughout the EU. Policy making such as sugar tax is now being implemented in various countries. Consumer are becoming increasingly aware of the negative effects of sugar over consumption. Consumers increasingly suspicious towards artificial sweeteners. Economic motivations for food industry. Stevia already makes more economical sense then sugar. Global Market Stevia: 2008: 20 million USD. 2010: 800 million USD. Global Sweetener market: 2012: 64 Billion USD. Estimated market share stevia 2020: Between 11 and 17 billion USD.

Diabetes Mellitus

Dua jenis diabetes
Terdapat dua jenis diabetes utama:
Apakah tanda-tanda amaran diabetes?
Image result for diabetes di malaysia
Semakin berat badan anda bertambah, semakin tinggi risiko anda menghidap diabetes.
  • Impaired glucose tolerance (IGT).
  • Tekanan darah tinggi
  • Tidak aktif -gaya hidup sedentari
  • Faktor pemakanan -Pengambilan makanan berlemak tinggi dan kurang pengambilan makanan berserat
  • Tahap lemak/ kolesterol yang tinggi .
Jika anda fikir anda mempunyai risiko tinggi untuk menghidapi diabetes, hubungi klinik kesihatan berdekatan.
Komplikasi diabetes
  • Ubatan
    • Jika anda pengidap diabetes jenis 1, anda memerlukan suntikan insulin
    • Penjagaan kulit
      • Mandi setiap hari
      • Keringkan semua bahagian badan dengan sempurna
      • Merawat luka dan calar dengan segera
      • Berjumpa doktor jika luka tidak sembuh selepas 2 - 3 hari.
    • Penjagaan kaki
      • Basuh kaki setiap hari
      • Tukar stokin anda setiap hari
      alt
  • Penjagaan gigi
  • Kerap menjalani pemeriksaan mata
  • Mengelakkan minuman keras
  • Berhenti merokok

Four Natural Cancer Treatments

Chris Osborn Just remember - cancer is curable - just don't go to your Dr for help! Most of the western trained Dr's are given on average about 1- 3 hours lecturing on nutrition in the 5-7 years at Medical school. The rest is all about pharmaceutical medicine and surgery, which never addresses the cause of problems, just the symptoms of the problems and makes their bosses very rich and the common people very poor and sick!

Is he using the cannabis oil and eating it - if hes smoking it, its no good, although a vapouriser is much better than smoking it! I have been curing my own skin cancers for three years now. There are about 9 people at my work using black salve to cure their skin cancers!

How to Remove Skin Tags and Warts Naturally and Cheaply at Home

If you have skin tags, especially larger ones, you probably know how annoying it can be when they are rubbed with clothing, jewelry or when shaving. Although they don’t require treatment, they can still cause irritation or discomfort, and might be not very aesthetically pleasing. Apparently skin tags are common, and according to the NIH (National Institutes of Health) USA, approximately 46% of people have skin tags.

You can go to a dermatologist that can cut off the skin tag, tie it off, burn it or freeze it. What I’m going to talk about today is how to remove skin tags and warts at home using apple cider vinegar (ACV).

An important note is that before you attempt to remove skin growth at home, you need to know that you are removing skin tags – which is a benign condition – and not a mole or any other lesion that can be malignant. Therefore what you are trying to remove should have been previously diagnosed by a health professional as a harmless skin tag.

What Are Skin Tags?

Having skin tags is a benign condition known also by the name acrochordon, and generally occur after mid-life. A skin tag looks like a small piece of soft hanging skin that may hang from a stalk. Skin tags can appear on any part of the body, but are more common in body folds where skin rubs against skin, such as armpits, groin, under the breast, eyelids and neck.

There are several factors that increase the likelihood of having skin tags. Genetics is one of them, while other factors include obesity and people who suffer from diabetes. Also skin tags are more common among pregnant women due to hormonal changes.

How to Use ACV to Remove Skin Tags

ACV has many uses as a home remedy and I’ve mentioned several of them in my previous article 10 Uses for Apple Cider Vinegar for Great Health and At Home. One of its uses is the removal of skin tags due to its high acidity. Don’t use ACV to remove skin tags around the eyelids, as it can harm the eyes.

Wash the area around the skin tag using water and a mild soap and then dry it. Dip a small piece of a cotton ball in ACV and squeeze out the excess ACV. Place the cotton ball with the ACV on the skin tag holding it with a bandage and leave in place for up to 15 minutes. Do it 3 times a day for several days or even a week or more if needed until the skin darkens, dries and falls off.
How to Use ACV to Remove Warts

A similar way is used to remove warts. Warts are caused by viruses, especially HPV type (human papilloma virus) that causes an infection. The virus causes the top layer of the skin to grow too fast, and the result is a small solid growth with a rough surface that typically appears on the hands or feet. Warts are more likely to develop on broken skin, as the virus can enter the top layer of the skin through scratches or cuts. If you are not sure and wonder whether it may be something else, go and see your doctor to have it checked.

The virus that causes warts can be passed on by skin-to-skin contact or through contact with towels or shoes, and can be spread to other body parts. This is why it is best to treat warts as soon as they appear.

You can use over-the-counter products to treat warts, or visit a dermatologist that can perform wart treatment and removal techniques that are stronger and usually faster than the commercially available products. But you can also easily and safely use ACV.

How to Use ACV to Remove Warts

Gently clean the wart and the area around the wart. Take a small cotton ball that will cover the wart, and soak it in ACV. Secure with a band aid overnight. Change the cotton ball daily and keep it on every night. After one week, the wart will start to peel off until it is completely removed. You may want to continue this treatment for another few days after the wart has been removed just to make sure it doesn’t return.

1.4 juta berisiko hilang kaki

"Kaki saya bengkak selama beberapa bulan.

Nair.

"Malaysia mempunyai ramai pesakit diabetes berbanding 28 juta penduduknya.
